This photo project is a documentation about how people live their ordinary lives in America. I’m intrigued by the repetition of vacuuming a rug, or scrubbing a pot. A meal is prepared, then it’s gone, dirty dishes are all that remain, they are washed, day after every day. There are times when I enter someone’s home and think, finally, I’ve found the most mundane activity imaginable, the extraordinary in the ordinary. That’s what I’m always searching for. But that satisfaction, for me, is elusive. There’s always something else. Something I missed. Something I just didn’t quite understand when I visited. So, I keep going back, find other people. I never seem to find what I’m looking for.
