As much as I enjoyed shooting game action, making portraits of sports personalities was something I always looked forward to.
Photographically, it often required a completely different approach... light control, subject placement, etc.
Things that typically a "game action" photographer has little or no control over.
Portraits were a different and refreshing challenge for me.
